Leominster, MA – Michael Covino, President of Niche Hospitality Group, has announced future plans for Rye & Thyme American Tavern and Mezcal Tequila Cantina. Both locations have been temporarily closed since March as a result of the COVID shutdown.

Rye & Thyme, located at 14 Monument Square, is currently under renovation and will reopen as The Fix Burger Bar in the fall of 2020.

The Fix has developed a strong presence in the Niche portfolio of brands with locations in Worcester and Marlborough, and has quickly established itself as a fan favorite in the Central Mass dining scene. The menu offers handmade burgers featuring a variety of protein choices and toppings, an extensive list of craft beer, milkshakes, and healthy dining options such as burger bowls and salads. More information and the full menu can be found at www.thefixburgerbar.com.

Rye & Thyme opened in 2012 and enjoyed a long run as a favorite local dining spot, offering high quality comfort food and craft beer served in a casual atmosphere with warm and welcoming service. Mike Covino expressed that the Leominster community can expect the same level of hospitality that they have come to expect when dining at Rye & Thyme.

“We feel that The Fix will be a great fit at the Monument Square location, and are excited to be bringing the concept to Leominster.”

Mezcal Tequila Cantina, located at 20 Central Street, will remain closed for the near future.

Mezcal blends traditional Mexican plates with flavors of the Southwest in a casual yet lively setting. Known for fresh guacamole, outstanding margaritas and an unrivaled tequila list, Mezcal first opened in Worcester before adding a second location in Leominster. The Central Street restaurant is tentatively scheduled to relaunch in early 2021 as part of a staged approach to reopening as the Niche team continues to navigate these uncharted times.

“Prior to the COVID outbreak, Niche Hospitality operated six different dining concepts in ten different locations. The effects of the pandemic on the restaurant industry have been significant, and like nothing we have ever experienced before. It will take time and a coordinated effort to work our way back toward our previous level of operation. Changes are inevitable. We are consolidating our focus at this point, on our core concepts, to give us the best chance of survival and success in the future.”
