A Perfect Wedding Weekend: Niche Hospitality Function Rooms in Worcester, MA

After becoming engaged in October of 2017, the planning started immediately. After scouring the state for venues, we finally decided on one in Central Massachusetts, and set our date for early September 2018. We slowly but surely checked off all of vendors and started to work on our guest list. We had a lot of guests coming from out of town, so we knew that we wanted to have both a rehearsal dinner and after party in Worcester, MA, where our hotel block was reserved. My research into function rooms in Worcester, MA led me to Niche Hospitality Group.

From the moment I sent an inquiry, it was a fantastic experience. Deb, the Function Coordinator, made planning so easy, and guided me through their different function rooms in Worcester, MA. They actually have 8 locations in the city, so there were a lot of options to choose from. After careful consideration about the vibe we wanted for each gathering, we decided to do our Rehearsal Dinner at Bocado Tapas Wine Bar and our After Party at Mezcal Tequila Cantina. Over the next couple of months, we finalized the details so that I would have one less thing to worry about during the week of.

Our actual rehearsal ended up going a little long, and Bocado was extremely understanding. They shifted back our start time and still made sure the evening was paced as we had planned. I was so relieved when we finally arrived, I got my glass of sangria, and enjoyed the incredible cheese board. The Fried Goat Cheese is one of the best things I have ever had. The crispy bread, goat cheese, and a drizzle of honey was a perfect bite. The board also included Serrano ham, chorizo, manchego cheese, and valdeon blue cheese. I had to remind myself to not go too crazy on the bread and cheese because we still had a full meal coming! We sat down in the comfortable leather banquettes and enjoyed a slide show created by my Maid of Honor celebrating our relationship and future together. Bocado had AV equipment built into the room, so setup was seamless. Instead of passed apps and a buffet, we opted to enjoy the tapas family style. It worked out perfectly. We were able to enjoy plate after plate of food while we talked and laughed with our closest family and friends. The Shrimp Burgers and Bacon Wrapped Scallops were a huge hit with our guests, as were the Grilled Lollipop Lamb Chops and Mozzarella Rice Balls. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and was the perfect way to start our wedding weekend. We felt confident in our choice of function rooms in Worcester, MA.

Of course, the next day was our wedding. It was an absolutely perfect day and we made so many memories that I will never forget. It was the best feeling when the reception ended at 10:00PM that we still had the After Party at Mezcal to enjoy with our family and friends. Quite frankly, I just didn’t want the day we had spent so many months planning to end! We were excited that over 60 of our guests decided to head to the After Party. The back room at Mezcal was ours and had the perfect setup with a private bar and bathroom for our guests. The tequila shots and margaritas were flowing and we were able to hook up our own playlist. Guests enjoyed guacamole, nachos, wings, and churros late into the evening. We closed Mezcal out at 2:00AM and had the absolute best time!
